April Awareness @ CVC
April is busy at CVC with three national awareness campaigns landing in one month, all relevant to our work.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (#SAAM) calls attention to the fact that sexual violence is widespread and impacts every person in our community. Our goals are to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it.
Child Abuse Prevention Month, also during April, seeks to educate community members how to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect. Our goal is to share useful information about protective factors that build on family strengths to foster healthy child and youth development.
The week of April 19-25 is a National Victims' Rights Week, dedicated to learning about victimization, the effect victimization has on individuals, families, friends and the community, and to promote laws, policies, and programs to help victims of crime. Our goal is to honor the dedication of those before us that established victim rights and renew commitment to guarantee that all victims have the rights and services they need to recover from crime.
